A tooling department has been set up in MACCHIAVELLI headquarters to build pilot tooling and to carry out applied research. Two other tooling departments have been set up in two separate divisions of the Company: one is used to build big-sized moulds, while the other one is used for thermoforming and for building small-sized moulds.

From design through production planning, 3D solids are made, from which details of all tooling assembly components are drawn. Their different characteristics suggest what the mould features should be and how its assembly should be carried out.
